My husband and I were friends for years before we got married. We were married six years before we had a child.
If you aren't ready to have a child, don't feel pressured. Having a child changes your whole life, including the relationship you and your boyfriend have.

I would not do that. It is fine for him to feel that he wants a baby, it just isn't a good idea to act on it. However, you can be positive and tell him that when the time is right, you would love to have his child.
If you get engaged after the first year, married after the second, spend the third year together as a couple, then have the child, you will be much better off. These things should be well planned.
I became accidentally pregnant while dating and I have spent years in court. I have spent about $50,000 in legal fees and I have suffered greatly. So make sure you know someone for several years.

i was with my boyfriend (who is now my husband) for 2 months when i found out that i was pregnant i was 16 so i had an abortion i was pregnant again (by the same guy) 4 months later and had a miscarriage now that we have been together for 3 1/2 years we finally have a 7 month old son

I know my husband for 2 years and 3 months before we got pregnant! Thats including when we were dating! We had been married for 1 year and 2 months!

There is no exact time period for knowing some one before you have a child. Everyone is going to have a different answer to this question. The question is are you ready to have a child? As a lot of people will warn you, he might decide once the baby is born that he is not ready to have a child yet. Single mothers can make it and childern of single mothers are just the same as everyone else. You just have to make sure you want the child, you are ready for a child, and you can support the child on your own if need be (not to say that he will leave you). Good luck.
