Good for you! Mix boiled linseed oil with a little white spirit or turps, apply with a brush. When dry in about4 days apply more, continue applying one coat every week for 3 weeks. Rub down with steel wool 00 grade with the pad soaked in mixture and wipe off with a lint free rag. The door takes on a golden glow, and its easy to touch up after it gets fingermarked and dirty. Boiled oil is better than raw as it oxidises quicker.

Paint it on with a quality brush and rub it in with a lint free cloth while it's still wet.
