You have to inform the airline about that.

If you are carrying insulin syringes, you must also carry insulin. According to the TSA, insulin must be labeled with either a professionally printed label or a manufacturer's name or pharmaceutical label.

Yes, according to the IATA you are allowed to carry on Insulin with syringes, provided there is a needle protector. You may want to also declare that you have a needle for medical purposes, along with a doctor's letter.

For more information check the website below. Or check the back of your airline ticket, which may provide a brief outlook on what you can and can't take on the flight with you. As an additional check, look up the airline's website to see if it is permitted.

Good luck & safe travels.

Yes you may, be sure to also carry with you insulin and the prescription for it. Also please be aware that if the insulin needs refrigeration, you must also find means to do this. We do not have a refrigerator on the aircraft, as passengers think we do. Everything that needs to be kept cold is cooled with ice cubes and dry ice. Furthermore, we are not allowed to accept passengers meds to store or chill.

You will find there is also a disposal receptacle for your needles in the lavatories. Sometimes it's hard to find, usually along the mirror. It's a slim little tube-ish looking contraption with a picture of a needle on it.

my sister is diabetic. She can take her syringes and insulin in a lunch box inside her carryon, but she has to have hospital and doctor records confirming that she is diabetic, and she can only bring a few needles with her at a time. She also has to sometimes answer questions from the TSA (we fly alot), but not very often...

Forget anything you have ever been told about Diabetes.

And get this - it has nothing to do with insulin, exercise, diet or anything else you've heard in the past. It's all based on latest breakthrough research that Big Pharma is going Stir Crazy to hide from you.

I would if you could get a Dr's note...can't be to careful. Hopefully your insulin bottle would be enough but just in case the note or the Rx would help. If they give you trouble ask if you can give it to the stewardess that way she is keeper of the needles in case you need them. I am sure if you show your life/death concern they will work with you.
