Oh, I'm not worried about it at all. I just thought it was a fun question to ask. I'm partial to Legos myself, heehee.

What is your problem? It is just a question that I thought would be fun to ask. I love that my husband loves to play with our son's toys. When I said that I can't keep him away from the train set - that was an exaggeration but it is a bit of an obsession with him. He loves trains!

is it one of those Thomas the tank engine ones??
they're fun!! :_)
It's okay... as long as the dad isn't fighting over it , like budging the kid aside or coming to you and whining that your son doesn't share with him :-)
hmmm. dad reliving his childhood :-)

You sound like someone who likes to take the joy out of someones life. The train set, was probably something he wanted when he was young, and now that he's older, and wishes to recall the joy he could have had when he was young, you wish to rip the joy and peace from his heart. CRUEL!!
You also help destroy the bonds growing between he and his child. Not only are you destroying his joy, but the joy he has with his toddler, which as I remember, is something as a woman you want him to do. Make up your mind, would you rather him be at the bar getting drunk, or in your home playing with a train set, and his son? Don't spoil the party, ask him simple questions. Join the fun, and feel the joy and peace in both their hearts when they play.
At least they're both at home, where would you rather they be?

Well... Maybe the Dad is just remembering toys he had played with back in his childhood... and how much fun he had playing with them for hours at a time... The toddler probably gets a kick out of seeing his dad playing with his toys, and also yet a selfish feeling, wishing dad would let him play with it... lol

Aren't most dad's just bigger toddlers anyways?? :-) My husband plays with the toy cars more than our son does!! And if I try to buy a toy that doesn't have lots of cool lights or doo-dads... he won't let me buy it because "it's not fun enough" Haha!! Men... they really are big kids!!

Dad probably has more fun with the train set, but your son is getting the most out of the experience by spending time having fun with his dad!! (I have the same thing with my partner and our sons' remote control cars!)

Well it's funny...but I bought my toddler a new Xbox 360 and a set of Ping golf clubs....but the little tyke just refuses to play with them? So I hate to see them sitting there idly! I guess I'll have to step up to the plate and use them.
Kids (even the teeny tiny ones) can be soooo ungrateful today?!?

My boyfriend is not a dad, but he does volunteer in a child care with me and when it comes to the toys, he sure looks like he is having more fun than the kids are.

Hey, they did not have those cool toys when we were kids. Beside how do we know its safe for the child. We have to give it a through inspection. Also, so we can properly train the child to safely and effectively use it. Appearntly I'm the only one that thinks about my childs safety... :)

Anything you can build with, you know Dad will be in the middle. You just have to learn that what you build, your child will love to knock over. This is all about learning and gravity is so much fun.
