This is not an uncommon situation; depending on what state you live in it can take several months to get plates, especially personalized ones. Right now in IL it is about 3-4 months just to get a title. My advice... call the dealer you got it from (or whoever processed your license plate forms) and ask when they sent it in, and what the average turnaround time is. If you want, you can also contact your Secretary of State's office or DMV office and see if you can track it through them. I'd relax... this is not out of the ordinary.

Hope this helped.

I went through this once and found out the dealer had taken my money and pocketed it. I ended up contacting the State's Attorney General's office about the problem and their field agent was camped on the dealers doorstep the next morning when they opened. I got my plate... and a huge apology from the dealer. This can land a dealer in jail if it's intentional so it's a serious matter... but the law is on your side.

First off have u registered the car?? What state do u live in??

In Alabama when car is registered the tag is given to them that day unless its personalized. Then it takes up to 6 weeks to receive the tag in the mail.

Since its July u definitely need to contact the DMV and make sure all information was correct and explain that your tag has not been sent.

Well, get your backside down to the DMV and get your tags! They don't just materialize out of thin air, you know!
