OK sweet heart let me say this....i lost someone i love very much in this war and he was a marine god rest his soul.he joined because he always said "if they come home i go"and on Sept.12 he did join.it was the proudest day of his life.although we truly didn't want him to go he did.i can only tell you this the people that say don't go so you don't die have no idea what it is to want to serve you great country.Richard did it out of love for us and his country.not to go kill people.he wrote to his sister saying it was the hardest thing he ever had to do but it was to keep us free.he is the reason people can say the stupid things they do.you should be proud of what it is you want to do.go with your heart and god will tell you where you are needed the most.it isn't some popularity contest.be proud of this and god bless you for wanting to defend this great nation of ours i am proud of you and thank you

Well I am an Army Wife and have ben for 14 years now.. I am use to the long time away and all the other hassle that comes with being married to the army yes that is something she NEEDS to know weather she likes it or not she to will be a part of the service in her own way because how she is perceived will help determine if you get the promotion or if the other guy will get it it IS all politics... being connected with the Army I have ben told that the Air Force has better housing and easier PT test other than that I couldn't tell you which to choose ...But good luck with your choice...

All the forces police are out here patroling so which ever one you join you have a VERY good chance of being out here. I have respect for all of them but the truth is that the Air Force runs the school for homland security and theArmy trains the people going to Iraq and the Marines well they are good fighter from day one. I am in the NAvy and I am in Iraq, on the ground with all the other force....Do some research and which ever one you get into ....take some college get a degree so you can go far in and out of the military.

if you are looking to join any branch of the military's MP/MA jobs to get experience and/or an edge in gettinga civilain police job.. think again.. It's a very different ball of wax and will NOT help you in any way shape or form. while the military experience in general will be a plus, the specific law enforcement job will not, as the civilian forces often have vastly different ways of enforcing the law and you would still have to go through their academies and unlearn all that th emilitary taught you.
Otherwise.. personal preference.. basic pay and bennies are identical across the board. MAs(Navy) will serve on ships and on shore duty and do anything from boring gate guard duty to dog handler to babysitting GITMO as well as organizing and administering little things like the random pee tests.
Each branch WILL deploy to some not so fun spots.

That is a personal choice. I can tell you that if you were to join the Navy, much of your time would be spent deployed away from your family. The Air Force treats it's people very well. (My ex husband was Navy. My husband is Air Force.) The benefits to the military are going to be the same, so it would depend upon what type of enlistment bonuses they might offer or where you want to be stationed as to which is best for you.

If you join the military for law enforcement there is something you should know. A lot of times they will not accept your military training and experience and/or won't like it. They feel that the guidelines and procedures between law enforcement and MP types are way too different. So, even if you do police work in the military, you will still go to a police academy.

My brother was an Army MP & liked it. Basically, people think that certain branches of the military are better than others. I think it's about the uniform. The typical rating is as follows:
1. Marines
2. Air Force
3. Navy
4. Army
5. National Guard
6. Coast Guard

From what I've heard Air Force is the best (for a family). But thats probably because my hubby is in the Air Force. Just do what is best for you and your family in the long run and what you really want to do. But remember marriage is a compromise....so your wife should have some input, but you still have the final say.

if u wanna front row seats join the marines....
if u wanna be a referee the army is for you.
u wanna shout from a safe distance the navy can help
if u chose not to pay to attend the event and want to observe than the Airforce is best.
to each his own but why would u wanna go commit suicide over at that side of the world b/c that is where u will be sent.

well, your wife probably thinks its safer for you to join the navy or the air force, and she's right. army MPs do alot more then break up bar fights and gaurd area 51. they go out and patrol in Iraq. alot of times they are responsible for gaurding convoys that go thorgh bagdad and fallujia and stuff. the are very well trained in urban combat and raiding houses. so, if you dont want to go to Iraq, the navy or air force is the best. but if you wana see some FIGHTIN go in the army.

If you want to be a grunt or foot slogger the Army is for you. If you like being a swabbie, join the Navy. If you want class and style, the Air Force is for you.
