The state is shut down... no DMV or Vehicle inspection, no Gambling including horse races, lottery and Atlantic City, no State Parks, I think even courts are shut down. Anyone know why it is shut down or how long this will last?

It is shut down because they could not agree on the budget for this year. They are arguing over a raise in the state sales tax. As for how long, I can not tell you that. Lawmakers! Who needs 'em? New Jersey, of course!

all i know is that the casinos are back up and running. they couldn't afford to lose all that money every day.

As for the DMV , lottery , parks, etc. I've no clue.

I am pretty sure this is all over now and everything is reopened. I think they made a deal Saturday morning.
