Well when they talk w/a stupid gay accent and act all femmy or if you catch one checking you out. My advice: don't hang out in the gay bar.
They most definitive way to tell if a man is gay is when you are walking into highway restroom #54 and there are two sweaty guys on the floor in a puddle of sweat, lube, and bile, rolling around naked.

No, you can pick out the ones that are obviously gay, but not all gays are acting that way. And more and more straight guys tend to act gay, although they are not.
The tip about observing if they check out guys or girls is not a bad one actually, but not really a guarantee either

Out of the about 10 friends that I have that are gay I was only unable to spot one and what's funny is he's a real close friend. If you don't know the person you can usually spot it a mile away.

I can usually tell because I am in theatre where I meet LOTS of gay men. The girls call is "gay-dar". We love our guys, and we know how to spot them. Impeccably dresses, flamboyent, higher pitched tone of speaking, feminine actions and interests. Oh, and good looking. Most gay men are good looking.And they don't leer - more comfortable talking and dancing with them and stuff. But yeah, I can tell...most of the times...

I would say CLOSE observation. Some people, men and women alike, just have those qualities that make them effeminite or masculine. For someone to say that it's easy to tell [in all cases] is incorrect because some people that are homosexual are hard to trace. Everything in life isn't blatantly obvious.

No. Because sometimes when you think they are.....they aren't, and vice versa.
Not every gay man shows the same attributes. They still all have individual personalities and actions. They live life the same way as anyone else...

Why would you want to know. I don't think it matters if a person is gay or not, unless you want to go further than chatting. In most cases you will find it out soon enough then.
Should you really want to know, ask them to fart. Depending on the sound/ pitch, you'll realize who's still a virgin....

Sometimes you can just by speech and gestures but there are many that you would never know. Gay men run the full spectrum from macho to fem.
