When you look at a person's tattoo, you're seeing the ink through the epidermis, or the outer layer of skin. The ink is actually in the dermis, which is the second layer of the skin. The cells of the dermis are far more stable than the cells of the epidermis, so the tattoo's ink will stay in place, with minor fading and dispersion, for a person's entire life.

The ink used in actual tattoo's is not on the skin. It is injected under the skin with needles. So it is permanent and not removable without considerable pain and expense. Hope this answers it for ya.

i think the reason 4 this is because the tatooing process is the ink which most are made from natural dyes from the earth. this is liquified and then it is used with a needle which imbedds the ink in our skin, deep within the layers of our skin where it remains trapped when our ability to heal ourselves covers the opening the needle made.the ink then cannot go anywhere besause its trapped.

It's not so much the "ink" as it is the deepness at which it scars... Which is really all a tat is, one pre-planned scar on your skin...

I once had a friend who was "stabbed" in the face with a BIC pen... 15years later he still has a scar on his cheek WITH a blue mark...

So, pretty much any ink will stay for long periods of time if placed deep enough in your skin

They put the ink in a deeper layer of skin than your epidermis, the top layer. It stains the skin below it and when you shed skin cells the ink doesn't come out because it's in a deep layer.

I have a little white swirl in my stars, and its much brighter 3 years after I got it than it was in the first place. I think it depends on the ink and the skin.

The ink is noy on the skin, it is in the skin. The tatoo gun injects the ink just below the surface.

It is IN the skin. The needles penetrate 3 layers of skin.

Because it's not on the skin, it's in the skin
