I want to know why people go to walmart and buy their beer and booze and not at a liquor store where honest hard workers are just trying to make a living, and cant because of the walmarts. So can you tell me why you rather go to walmart and not your local liquor stores ?

to the one who said that i can go apply at walmart I am a store owner and will not go to walmart yes i know they can sell other items if they can why cant the liquors stores sell other items than just beer wine & liquor ? I have to pay for a permit to sell these items and its not cheap try $1,000.00 per year. I dont get kick backs like walmart does, I dont get special pricing on liquors or beer or wine., but they do. but I will give you special treament when you come in I will try to answer your questions on items I sell. I will special order items I dont have and we do carry out your purchases when needed.

I am assuming because it is cheaper!!!
My husband runs a liquor store and everyone is always going on about how they can get it sooo much cheaper at Superstore (we are in Canada) and it drives us crazy, but to be honest, it is much cheaper there so what can you do? We try to fight it with great service but at the end of the day people are going to try and save $$ wherever they can.

Liquor store usually has lower prices on beer. But they are more expensive with regular liquor. Plus, I live 1 block from a liquor store and about 5 miles from a Wal-mart.

Can't buy liquor at WalMart here... but I don't really shop at WalMart for anything anyway. I go to a wine and spirits store, the only place I can get liquor... or of course a beer distributor.

Generally everything is cheaper at Wal-Mart. But if all I want is beer then I'll just beat the crowds and go to the liquor store. However Wal-Mart employees are just as hard-working as liquor store employees so I dont see why that should even be an issue. Besides if their liquor store closes down they can always apply at Wal-Mart where they hire anybody!

In Mississippi you have to go to the grocery store to buy your beer and the liquor store to buy wine and hard liquor. It is actually a pain in the rear so I simply don't bother going most of the time. I will either send my husband to the base liquor store or since we don't drink much I will find something else to use in my recipe.

I prefer to go to the local liquor store as they have a much better selection. But I know that some people like the fact that you can get everything in one place and not have to make two different stops -

Wal-Mart DOES sell liquor, different markets allow different products.
And Wal-Mart employees are not hard-working. Ask anybody in a Wal-Mart anything and they will give you a blank stare or point in some random direction. Nobody is helpful. I'd rather do self checkout than have a cashier help me because they can't even master that task.
