Do not go by "how good" a military is. If you are speaking about technological capabilities, then the North Korean military is average.

But, most of NK's resources are used to support the military, and, it is a large standing army, in a country that has spent 50 years fortifying itself against enemy invasion.

The North Koreans are experts are repelling invaders.

Many people laughed back in the early 60's about the prospect of very lightly armed North Vietnamese irregulars fighting US soldiers, but look what happened.

It is a matter of drive, national pride, focus, dedication that will determine how effective a military is.

Yes, this would be a bloodbath for US forces. NK is a harsh environment with highly motivated soldiers ready, well-trained, and determined to drive out US forces AGAIN!

Bush-appointed military advisers paint a rosy picture of how easily we would win a war, but that is wrong. MacArthur had to extend tremendous resources for his victory at Inchon, but a few months later, all was lost. We would also have to reinstitute the draft: there is now way we have the standing military might to attack NK.

You also have to consider how China will involve itself in a ground war in its own backyard. It might not want a West-friendly nation right on its border, so this could be even more complex and bloodier for US troops.

We, the West, need to aggressively pursue a diplomatic solution, and to stop using our militaries for diplomacy. It is only weakening the leadership capabilities of the US.

We would never invade the country of North Korea I'm for sure on that one. We would never have the support to cross the 38th paralel. North Korea is trying to flex it's nuclear muscle to get countries to give more aid. There military is quite strong on a defensive role or attacking a small country like S.Korea. There is 50,000 troops on our side of the 38th along with S. Korean forces. They would be in for one hell of a fight until the US flexed its muscle. We wouldn;t want to get into a fight invading to the North. As I always say easier to defend than it is to attack.

what? the us military is the most advanced and powerful military in the world, we are built to fight a war against a country. within 24 hrs there communications, missle locations, military stations, and infestructure would be obliterated.

and that is just the air strikes.

then we kinda just walk in and start a democracy.

North Korean's military is huge. Yeah they would be a handful in a war. We fought them once before check your history on how well we did. They have only gotten better.

I think that they are a million strong. Underneath some damn mountain. Yes, I imagine they would be a challenge.

IDK about leadership. Maybe they are crazy like Kim Jong.
