don't be so concerned with whether it is "in" or not - do what you want. Talk to your hair stylist to find out what is most flattering for you and what's best to care for in your situation.

A perm is a commitment. What you should do is try it out before getting one by curling your hair.
Perms aren't for everyone, it depends on the shape of your face. Perms also cause a lot of damage to hair and need a lot of attention. Some women I know do hot oil twice a week.
The last time I had a perm, it became really unmanageable. I got my hair cut and told them to cut all the perm off. After that, I got a lot of compliments on my new haircut.

It's not a matter of 'in' or 'out'. Perming seriously damages hair and you're bound to get tired of it sooner or later. I have straight hair and every once in a while I get an urge to perm it, but then I talk to all my curly-haired friends and hear about their hair woes (including frizz and big hair) and suddenly perming seems like a bad idea. Just remember that once you do it, there's no go back- you'll have to wait for your hair to grow out before it'll be normal again!

STRAIGHT HAIR IS IN! its a look which has and will always remain sexy, and anyother look u want!
depending on the reasons for ur hair, i would definately try it out on temp perms first,
i had beautidul long (hip length) brown hair and its always been straight i got bored of it straight so went ot get it permed! big mistake was nice for a couple of weeks after that dont matter how many and how good quality hair products u use it doesnt look that good, so unless its something u really really r sure of i wudnt do it..
secondly it took me at least a year/1/2 to finally bring it back to being straight, and the transition time was a nightmare!
good luck!

I would say that it would be better to get very loose curls/waves using rollers. Perms, I'm sorry to say, are not in at the moment.
Still, that does not mean that you should not get it done. Some people suit curly hair. You could just ask them to do a loose perm instead of a really tight one.

Permed hair doesnt really ever go 'out' of fashion - like black trousers. At the moment 'waves, layers - flicked hair' is in.
Permed hair does not suit everyone so be sure before you get it done. If it suits you (and thats all that matters) then Go for It!!! =)

Well for one thing, curly hair is always in style! Also consider this.... if you get a perm with tighter curls.... that is more of a fun-loving, playful look.
If you go for the big loose wavy curls... that is a sexier look. So go with whatever you want. I will also tell you that the wavy curls look the best on darker hair. And the tighter ones look really good on redheads. But you do whatever you like! =)

If you do get a perm be prepared to deal with a lot of upkeep, and it is very damaging to your hair. But it is up to you and what you think looks good on you.

It doesn't matter if it's in styles change from straight to curly every 3 - 6 months. I don't know if they are in currently or not but if they aren't and you have one you might be considered a trendsetter or ahead of the fashion times, which is always a good thing! Do what you want don't worry about what everyone else thinks.

To be honest soft perms are making their way back in. But don't do it just because it's in, do it because you like the way you look with it.
