I always eat chicken and veg and I also make a low carb spag bol. But does anyone have any ideas for a nice carb free meal?
I loosely try to follow the slimming world diet.
Thanks

Baked salmon and salad is really nice and low fat (not sure about carbs but I'm pretty sure that's low too). I tend to stick to 'healthy' meals to keep myself trim!

I'm diabetic and beans are very low on my list of what I can eat. And then it's only about 1/3 cup. Fish, fresh or frozen veggies, Lean red meat. Make a salad of steak. It's really really good and very filling. Cook a good piece of steak the way you like it and slice it fairly thin. Add whatever salad goodies you like. Just be sure to look at the label on the dressing you choose. Ken's Steak House Salad Dressing makes a delicious Greek dressing with Feta Cheese, Black olives and Imported Olive oil that is only 2 grams of carb. It does have a lot of fat, but as usual moderation is always best. One last thing, when reading labels, if you don't know already, those are grams listed. A whole carb is 15-19 grams so you have a lot of wiggle room. Great! Now I'm hungry!

This isn't totally carb free, but the salsa and cheese are pretty low in bad carb area

Salsa Chicken

4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
4 tsp taco seasoning
1 c salsa
1 c shredded cheese

Preheat oven to 375. Put chicken in a lightly greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Sprinkle both sides of chicken breasts with taco seasoning. Pour salsa all over chicken. Bake or 25-35 mintues or until juices run clear. Sprinkle with cheese and bake for 3-5 additional minutes.

*You can also do this with jumpo shrimp for a lot less time too

Thats easy

Bacon (grilled if you want lower fat).
Eggs cooked any way you like.
Tinned Plum Tomatoes.
Mushrooms throw them in the microwave for 3 mins.
Black Pudding Grilled.

There we go, just what the doctor ordered, you will find a trace of carb in the mushrooms, the rest is carb free.

Veggies contain carbs and you do need low glycemic index carbs to nourish the brain. You don't want to go completely carb free.

Zone diet, South Beach Diet, Fat Busters Diet all have excellent low glycemic index carb recipes that are good for you and low carb.

I ate loads of omlettes when cutting down on carbs.

You can flavour them with loads of things that are no or very low carbs - Bacon, Cheese, Tuna, Prawns, Mushrooms etc...

Simple, fast and tasty

A hearty stew made with lean meat, veggies and beans, it's so filling you don't need any carbs to accompany it.
