it depends on the medication... if it is prednisone and you have to take it long term, there is nothing you can do as this medication destributes fat to certain areas of the body. I hope this is not the case for you. as a nurse , that is the one medication I would rather never have to take for any length of time at all.

There are meds that make you gain weight (or retain water), but I bet my bottom dollar that any doctor will tell you that if you know that, then you have to compensate for the meds by consuming less and exercising more. Depending on the meds and your reasons for taking them, I'd ask the Doctor whether there are alternatives.

Quit taking that medicine and if you really need it ask your doctor to give you something else that doesn't make you gain weight and try exercising!!!!!!! And you will be pretty and a little slimmer i hope my advice works!!!

Talk to the Doctor that Rx it for you. Normally, medication side effects that cause wt gain is due to increased appetite. It's hard to back away from the table if your hungry.. so you have to try and eat foods such as celery, green grapes, cucumbers. These foods burn more calories to digest then to ingest. Also increase you exercise..remember, muscle burns hotter than fat.

Maybe you can get your medicine in a diet formula. Like diet Coke. You may be on to something.....a whole new product line. Diet medications. wow--get to the patent office.

talk 2 ur doctor about switching meds and just try 2 eat healthier and exercise more
