Where did you get this info? What is colchine? Because I know colchiCINE is a drug used in chronic gout, and if it were really colchicine that induces polyploidy, then you do realize the impact of this issue, colchiCINE has got to be pulled out from the market. And that would mean one less option for gout patients.

Lol on the Stork However From Experience I can tell you this Have a normal Delivery don't go Cesarean it hurts a lot after you get out of the hospital if your top stitch tears or staples (depends on the Doctor) they will let it heal as an open wound Don't know why Didn't ask Also if you have to climb the stairs (if you live in a 2 story aprt.) that is the worse you walk slower then ever and by the time you reach the top you wish you had stayed at the hospital from the pain. Having a delivery is better with and Epi to reduce the pain when they do induce you, because of being induce it will be a little more pain then with a normal delivery because your body is not the one that is doing the work it's the doctor and your body doesn't take well when they Induce Had that done twice not very fun cause they kept the meds in me way to long and the epi they gave me with my second didn't take as well as my first baby. Hope this help a little.

yes, the polyploid crops have in many cases been created this way. Exactly as was said here -it disrupts microtubules motion, therefore the chromosomes cannot move apart, stay together during the process that was supposed to be cell division, and the result is one cell with double amount of DNA rather than two cells with normal amount of DNA.

to gameplan: of course, that colchicine is highly toxic and at the same time it is used in medicine, as is the case of many plant toxins, (digitalis, atropin, strychnine, chinine and many many others), colchicine medications have adverse effects, that is fact. It cant be helped. hey who said that all medications are harmless stuff, that is why it says on the bottles keep out of reach of childred, use only as prescribed, dont take more of it, etc.

Additionaly, some cells in human body are normally polyploid - eg in the urine bladder (is it called this in english?). if plants get polyploidized, they grow bigger, but if polyploidisation is induced or just takes place in animals or humans, it is usually followed by death of the particular cell - that is a bit of a difference in animal and plant genetics. so if you take colchicine in your medications, you will probably have some adverse effects, that should nnot outweight the benefit. But if you overdose, you are simply acutely poisoned, because your microtubules cannot move around things inside you cells, you are not polyploidised....

colchicine (a product of the autumn crocus) is a potent inhibitor of microtubule polymerization.
we use it in our lab all the time to arrest cells in mitosis.
In plants, this is followed by somatic doubling -- so the cell, instead of having the same number of chromosomes in the daughter cell after mitosis, would have double the number of chromosomes -- polyploidy.

You can find protocols for treating plants with colchicine (and presumably to make new varieties) at the websites I've listed.

Gout is caused by entities and the method is to task the nerve constantly in the foot area until debilitation and the effects of the tasking is no fluid flow in the tight muscle resulting in uric acid build up which the "learned" doctors attribute to diet. Not so,untrue, its entities and analgesics along with forced movement every moment possible will alleviate symptoms and get fluids flowing, but will not relieve you of your problem with hyperdimension.Just plain facts. And to the colchicine,it is a poisonous substance and the marijuana growers used it to turn their plants polyploid and make them stronger and many people got effected by smoking the first generation plants with the colchicine still in the the plant material.Plant biologists are irresponsible .They wrote books on how to do the treatment for the general public. My,my.

Works by interupting disjunction (or separating of chromosomes) in mitosis. The chromosomes replicate, but don't separate, and the cells get a higher ploidy number.

Yes. its also used in gout

colchicine is generally obtained from the corms of a plant called as "colchicum autumnale".the plant is also called as meadow --saffron.it belongs to the family "liliacae"generally colchicine is used to increase the ploidy of a plant.ie.,COLCHICINE PREVENTS THE SPINDLE FORMATION DURING METAPHASE OF MITOSIS AND THUS ENABLES THE DOUBLING OF CHROMSOMES.thus colchicine is helpful to us in poliploidy-breeding. i hope that u got the correct answer for ur answer
