Yes sure, He has a role - He is watching and laughing at the theories.

Intelligent Design is not a theory at all. It does not put forth a system of thought to organize the known facts, it simply attacks (often quite well) the holes in Evolutionary Theory. But evolution is a scientific fact. Evolutionary Theory is a structure to try to explain *how* what is known about evolution happened. When people say "it's just a theory", they demonstrate their ignorance about the difference between theory and hypothesis.

No, it's not a new theory...It's an attempt by creationists to placate evolutionists. Creation happened. Evolution is an ongoing process so the arguement is that someone had to start that process...GOD (if there is one)? Since science has an understanding of the basic chemical reactions necessary for life to arise the idea that God created us has been rendered mute. Beside that why would God in his/her/it's perfection create such an imperfect system (Evolution)? PEACE!

God is the reason for our existence. Intelligent design is just a way for people to get around the fact that the laws of church and state are supposed to be kept seperate. I believe that these laws should stand, but I also believe that the ultimate answer is God.

Intelligent Design is pseudo-science and it is not recognised by the wider scientific community as a theory at all...just a wild hypothesis to try to make Creationism look legitimate...but it fails sadly because it is wrong.

I think it's just a rewording of the creation story with some psuedo-science thrown in.
