Beggin strips are chemical versions of what some scientist belive "healthy" bacon should taste like for dogs. That's why some dont eat it, it's not the real thing. Dogs are smart, if you have real bacon and offer them a piece of that they're gonna know the difference.

My dogs definitely know the difference. Beggin Strips are basically clay molded to look like bacon... little more... and not good for them either. My dogs always can tell the difference between a natural food... something I would eat... and the crap they package for dogs.

Just to let everyone know - BEGGIN' STRIPS ARE NOT BACON.
Here are the ingredients of Beggin' Strips:
-Ground wheat (not good for dogs)
-corn gluten meal (the starchy residue from corn, not digestible by dogs)
-wheat flour (no nturitional value)
-ground yellow corn (dogs do not digest corn)
-water
-sugar (should NEVER be in dog foods)
-glycerin
-soybean meal (common allergen)
-meat (this could be ANYTHING - roadkill, euthanized cats, dogs, cows, horses, anything not fit for human consumption)
-hydrogenated starch hydrolysate (what? this shouldn't be in foods)
-bacon fat (preserved with BHA) (BHA is a cancer causing chemical preservative)
-salt (should NEVER be in dog foods)
these things are disgusting!!!! Who in their right mind would put those ingredients in their dogs?
Bacon isn't good for your dog either because of the fat content but at least it is a natural product from the pig versus the crap found in these treats. Please people use common sense and realize that companies like Purina product horribly low quality food that is killing our pets.
I wonder why dogs can tell the difference?!

My dogs do, beggin strips have certain ingredients in them, and bacon smells fresh and greasy, which dogs love. Dogs sense of smell is very keen, they can usually smell 5miles, depends on how accute. If you can smell that well, don't you think you could tell the diffrence between fake and real?

My family's dog doesn't eat bacon (we don't give it to her) but she loves those beggin strips treats.

I dont know, but it doesn't make a difference to my dog, she eats both, although, she will take the real bacon over the strips! So...maybe she does know!

I guess because my dog will eat bacon but not bacon strips,I think the people that make bacon strips are dry and hard but bacon is crunchy and yummy.

If my dogs were given a choice between the two, real bacon would always win.
