I wouldn't want to be immortal in a messed-up world. That is why God is going to make all things new, in a perfect planet.

I like Julia's answer. Our spirits are already immortal, consisting of a finer eternal matter that cannot be destroyed. By our decision to come here to this physical earth, we will already inherit the gift of immortality after passing through the Resurrection as a free gift of Jesus Christ, made possible by His Infinite Atonement. We will all receive our physical bodies once more - but this time they will be perfected as if we were in the prime of life, and no longer subject to death and disease. It doesn't matter what you have done in this earth - everyone will be resurrected. However, where you are directed next depends on what you have done with your life. I am looking forward to the Resurrection and immortality, because after watching loved ones die, I would love to have a huge family reunion on the earth. No more funerals, and no more cemeteries!

No. If given the choice of weather or not to be immortal I would choose to stay mortal. Because having to live one lifetime is long enough and besides if you were immortal you would have to watch all of your friends and family die, and never have the opportunity to see them in the after life(heaven).

If I could be in decent health, yes. I would want my children and husband to be immortal, too. But, since I do not believe in an afterlife and I'm not crazy about the idea of not existing anymore (which is why religions were created to begin with, because nobody's crazy about that idea), I think I'd go for it no matter what.

I am immortal. So are you! So is everybody else.

Not physically immortal, of course ... but all of our souls will live forever.

Where our souls end up for eternity after we die is up to us.

Can't accept that? Sorry, but it's a fact, and we all have to deal with it.

No. Who wants to watch everyone they love die? And do you get eturnal youth with this immortality? It would be even worse to turn into a crumpled up 3000 year old living being. ewwww

No, because then I would never get to go to Heaven and meet God. The idea of immortallity is cool, but being stuck on earth forever, you would have to live through all the horrible things that happen. And I don't think I would ever want to do that.

No for that would mean that my soul would mostl likely have been sold or in eternal damnnation. Like a vampire or werwolf. To see all u love die before you would also be a part that would always hurt and cause you to be distant form others.

How do you define immortal? If it means you will never die, as Chsritians, we believe that. We believe that we will spend eternity in heaven.
