I can sympathize, as I am tapped by my ex for favors as well. Why? Because you let her know( either verbally or non-verbally) that her dismissal of you did not mean you wouldn't help her. You must make it clear that since she has moved on, your talents cost $$, and bill her accordingly. If she balks, tell her to go to the dealership and check their prices. No one works for free, and if you continue to help her out of some misplaced "guilt" or "hope " you will continue to be taken advantage of. "JUST SAY NO!"

Well, I'm sure at a shop it would have cost a bunch more. So she probably discussed it with her current b/f and it was ok with him. It has nothing to do with 'being an ex.' Just that you know how to fix cars and could do it for her. Nothing more than that. Nothing is going through her mind but, "damn, I sure saved a lot of money having him help me out." That's all.

You are obviously a very nice guy, and I am sure you were angry & hurt while you were fixing the car. I would politely tell her next time that you just don't feel comfortable coming over & that she may want to find someone else that can work on her car.

Hate to say it buddy, but she used you. She took advantaged of your feelings to get a car fixed either cheaply or for free. I really hope you didn't do it for free. Anyway, she thinks you're a schmuck (been a while since I've used that term), & will continue to use you as long as you allow her to do so. You don't owe her anything, & it's time you moved on & found a woman who would deserve a man kind enough to fix a car for her knowing he wasn't getting any physical or emotional reward from her.

Her current b/f might know jack about vehicles. She might feel that you do not mind if you 2 are still in good standing. It's cheaper (or even free) to get a friend to work on a vehicle than it is to take it to a mechanic. If you feel awkward, you should tell her.

because your a sucker and she is manipulative and knows she has you wrapped around her finger! this is bad if you still love her than she is just playing on your emotions ...using you.... your not obligated to do a damn thing for her so next time tell her no...better yet never answer her call again...unlesss you really want her back...then maybe her having you be her personal jack of all trades ,jumping at the sound of her voice you might win her back...

Because you let her do it. I would just act like I didn't care and move on with my life. I wouldn't do her anymore "favors" though. She is using you to get what she needs. Next time tell her no and that she should take it to a mechanic like everyone else.

Maybe he didn't offer to pay for the repair and she couldn't afford it otherwise. It was really great for you to fix her daughter's car I would definitely tell her to find someone else for any future repairs.

You were used. The other guy doesn't know how to fix anything so they called you. She just used you to fix her car, don't be a sucker.
