Science is proving that there are other dimensions beyond the four we recognize (three dimensions + time). The M theory gives us at least 11 dimensions, which may be alternate realities.
It's very likely that the between-lives realms are areas within another dimension which run invisibly through our own.

You said it - "all you see is blackness (can I say dankness?) and stars. What can produce or reflect light is seen, that too within a limit. Otherwise it is all darkness. So is it fair to judge being in darkness. Can you imagine an everlasting situation? Actually we cannot but we all will say without end or something like that.
The creations are so wonderful. As far as we know, we (human beings) are the top most creation in every sense. Will such a great wisdom create us with no aim whatsoever? This is the point at which I used to stuck up and divert my thoughts to my Creator.

God is imaginary, a sort of invisible friend for adults.
Consequently anything to do with god is imaginary
You don't need science to discredit religion and anything that goes with it, just common sense.

I havenent a clue. I cant remember reading anybody going to heaven in the bible, only Christ.
