Well the other answers are right, english is the *main* language spoken in Toronto but considering T.O. is so cultural there are alot of different languages spoken there. You have to consider it has sections of other cultures just like Ottawa does such as China Town and Little Italy.

English is the main language in nearly all of Canada including Toronto. The second most spoken language in the Toronto area is probably Chinese. French would be way down the list.

Toronto is in the English-speaking part of Canada. Frenche is spoken in Quebec.

I think in Toronto, Vancouver and Windsor you can almost speak any language and get by. Though English is more prevalent in Toronto then french.

My (French-speaking) mother-in-law was VERY annoyed not to be replied to in French (or maybe it was in very bad French) at what's generally considered the best hotel in Toronto. (Save you 5 points--the Royal York.)
I wouldn't be too surprised to hear that French isn't even the second-most-spoken language in TO. But I don't know.
