There's a difference between worshipping something/someone and simply following something/someone, right? Also, all people - even Christians from time to time - worship something other than the Christian God (e.g. money, family). I'm not saying they build an altar and sacrifice up a burnt offering, or simply bow down before it, but you can worship in more ways than simply physical ways. Just look at people who idolize money (yes we all need it, but some love it too much) and would sacrifice much, if not most, of what they have - their dignity and friends included - to gain more of it. By doing that, they are directing their sentiments, energies, and desires towards *money* which can constitute worship.
In that sense, nobody's really free from worshipping false gods. We all get caught up in our own idea of what's right and wrong, important and irrelevant, even when we are self-professed Christians.
But I digress. The point of this is, while a person may worship something that Satan promotes (e.g. sex outside of marriage, illegal drugs), that doesn't necessarily constitute worship of Satan himself, or so I believe, anyways. And even though people who denounce the Christian God ultimately follow Satan because of their lack of desire and/or ability to follow Jesus, it doesn't also constitute worship on the part of that person.
In short, I don't believe that atheists worship Satan, though I would argue that they follow Satan. I hope I've demonstrated my view of the matter (which includes a distinct line between the two) well enough to answer your question. And sorry for the rambling tangents. I use forty words where ten should suffice...

It is not that athiests worship Satan, but Jesus did state that if you are not for him then you are against him. There is really not a middle ground. You either are in God's side or your not. There will bot be any conscientous objectors when it comes to a final battle between good and evil. Doesn't it take more blind faith to believe in nothing than to belive in God? And yet, you state that you can't understand someone who believes in something they cannot see.
When I die I believe that I will be with Jesus in Heaven. When you die you think, as athiests do, that you will simply cease to be. If you do not belive in Jesus and accept that he died for your sins, then according to the Bible, you will suffer seperation from God, which will be the worst punishment. I can talk about fire and brimstone, but it would not really matter. Let's just see who is right. If you are, then at least I lived a good life and had hope. It won't matter that I cease to exist. If I am right, you will suffer eternal damnation and won't quite be as smug as you seem right now. The truth will prove out in the end.

Athiests do not worship satan. The imbeciles who have told you that are saying so because in their narrow view of things, anyone who doesn't think the same way that they do is a devil worshipper.
Many "Athiests", actually label themselves so, because they do not believe in the "God" defined by the mainstream religeons of the world.
I don't believe in either. But neither do I believe in myself as a deity, or controller of my own destiny etc. However, I do believe that I should treat everyone the way I would like to be treated.
Being an Athiest dosn't make one the spawn of the devil. Lol

We are afraid of that we which we do not understand. That is why people have been lying to you. They do not understand atheism, therefore are afraid of it, and began to spread myths, based on both fear and ignorance. An atheist is not a devil worshiper, just someone who doesn't believe in the existence of a higher power, they believe in the here and now. What they see is what they believe, and they aren't not bad people.

When religious folks say "You don't worship God so you must worship Satan instead", it's EXACTLY the same as if I said to them "You don't worship Thor so you must worship Loki instead". Rejecting one imaginary deity does not mean you worship a different one instead. Atheists reject them all.
