My little fecker uses the house like an 'effin canteen.
He scratches at the door to come in then when he's had his food is desperate to get out, he goes berzerk if not let out immediately.

If this is a recent sudden change in behaviour your cat must have a problem of some kind. I've heard of cats being afraid to go in their house because another cat has been in and left a scary scent behind - could something like this be the case? Or he may have an illness, injury or have suffered a bad shock. If
his fear continues, a visit to the vet might be called for.

He's probably getting fed elsewhere, it's true the saying that cats have two homes. Although he could also be a twin of my aunts cat who is The Spawn of Satan! If your not quick enough with the tin opener or if you ignore her too long then ankle swipe moment. Go to stroke her and the first ones fine then hand clutched with all four legs and claws - Pure evil!

People who don't understand the word mardy shouldn't answer the question then!

Maybe the cat is being fed by one of your neighbours, who is using a Superior cat food like Cesar for instance. Have you thought about changing your brand?

Has your cat been neutered??? If not, get him to a vet as soon as possible. When he is on the hunt for females he can be savaged by dogs (or people) hit by vehicles, pick up all manner of diseases. An un-neutered male is less affectionate towards humans because he has boy-cat things on his mind, so help him out and save on the Elastoplast!!

I'm glad I read some of the answers--I was wondering what in the hell "mardy" meant.

Anyway, your cat probably thinks you are playing. Leave the food and water out for him, and your "mardy" cat will come back.

Most literate English speakers understand the word 'mardy'.
Big gloves on,get him into the cat carrier and zoom him down to your vet.He/she will convert him to a gentle friend by removing the root of your problems.
