My Uncle, who was an internationally famous fish breeder, has died. Should we go to the trouble of burying him, or, as a mark of respect for his life's work, just flush him down the toilet?

Krism...oh dear...a spoilt little angel decided to make her contribution, did she? Look at the other responders here...now, lighten up girl...where's *your* humour?

Really, what is the matter with all you people? The same people here who are displaying their total absence of humour are the same ones whining that their country is so misunderstood. I'm not surprised if you do not know a laugh when you see one. LAUGH for heaven's sake...

you have to make the kids take him to the back garden in a plastic bag, while murmuring some sad song off-key, dig a shallow hole with a plastic toy shovel and put him in.
(Just to discover the cats have dug him up and ate him the next morning).
That's the way of the fish!! ;)

I have never heard of someone being so disrespectful in all life about another person!! How rude of you to speak of a family member that has passed on, "flush him down the toilet". What is this world coming to? Was he that much of a burden to you? Have some respect for the man. Have him cremated and bury his ashes at least!! Don't "flush him down the toilet"

Oh honey!!! I dont believe it would be a mark of respect for his life's work. At the same time, where is it my place to say if it would or wouldnt? honestly, because I have never met your uncle, therefor, How would I know if he Cherrished his occupation enough to the point that he would (A) appriciate the gesture, Or (B) just be kind of " blank " about the thought. Myself personally wouldnt consider flushing him, but sweety on this one I would have to use your personal judgment on whether you feel you could accept that decision always and be content with it, or if you would end up regreating it later. Best Wishes

Depending on your late uncles sense of humor...it may be a very good idea. Ask your self if your uncle would find it humorus?
Another idea is to spread his ashes aroud a fishing pond, or some other way to honor his work and hobby.

Let the dead stay buried and let him rest in peace.
Why go and shake him to wake him up again.
Had serve his purpose on planet earth.
Will have the mummy risen from the graveyard with two hands stretching out scaring the hell out of you on planet earth.
Now you see why everyone is having problems with ghost busting on planet earth.

I agree with the wise old witch, you should cremate first, otherwise looking at a big bill from Roto-Rooter. *smile*

Pig. Since you are such a pig, maybe you should be slaughtered when you die.
