I have been dealing with this for a year now and bone scan revealed my leg was completely healed. The area still gets a little sore after I run and can only assume this is normal do to the extent of the injury (it almost cracked tibia in half in two places because I let it go so long).

How long did you rehab and was it with a licenced therapist. A stess fracture of the tibia will take some time to heal and the muscles around that area will atrophy while the healing process is taking place. The soreness comes from the muscles getting stonger again so that they can reduce stress on the bone. It takes some time but if you are running again you are on your way. Try more strenth exercises of the calf, hamstring, upper and lower quads, and hip.

I can tell you this, I cracked my tibia from the knee cap to the ankle about ten years ago, and that leg still gives me trouble. Stiffness in the ankle and soreness when I do any kind of athletic activity. I am interested to see some of these answers. The Dr.s told me they had never seen anyone walk into the office with a fracture that bad, I thought I had just twisted my ankle.

That area will never feel right again. I had a stress fracture of my rt. foot 2 times, on the same bone. I'm all healed, but I just get this little twinge that lets me know I broke it.
