I've had computers that have had four operating systems. - DOS, Win 3.11, Windows 98 and Windows XP.
Any operating after Windows '95, you should load onto different partitions. In other words, drive C and then drive D.
In some instances, I've had games that work better in Windows '98. At other times, I've had to troubleshoot a driver problem, whether it was a driver or an actual hardware problem. I'd fire up the other operating system, to determine if the hardware can be 'seen'.
Other than that, it can be a pain to figure out which program is installed where, and having to re-boot all the time to get the operating system that you want.
There's always the concept of a "virtual PC", but I won't get into that now.

You need to partition your hard drive first and install one os in one partition and another os in another partition.
The advantage is, if you are a software developer or web programmer, you can see how your programs would function under different os. Sometimes, a program may work in one os but not in the other.

install your first os and then the second but you have to consider that not to install them on the same partition and if you want to have previous version of windows with xp you have to install them first.the disadvantage is you usemore space which you use them seperately ( double size the install size) & the advantage is you can experience two os by differenet option use for different perpose (like one for work and one for family)
