Does anyone have any advice on a successful workout? Not to rigorous because I am a beginner.

I tried a variety of workouts and gym stuff until I discovered what works for me. You'll probably go through some trial and error too until you find what works best for you.
Not every beginner starts on the same level. Much depends on your age, flexibility, stamina, existing muscle mass, weight, etc.

Instead of shelling out a bunch of money up front for workouts that may or may not work, go to your local library and see what they have. There are usually a variety of tapes you can sign out free. See if there's anything you like. You might find that pilates is boring, but a kickboxing type routine works, or that kickboxing is too advanced and a more subtle routine works.

The trick is to find the happy medium between what you like and working up a sweat, but not causing injury. If money is of no concern, then consider hiring a personal trainer who can evaluate your current level of fitness and put together a workout routine specifically for you. Beware of the "flashy" trainers. Get a guy/woman who has a solid reputation and no connection to a gym (not one whose ulterior motive is to sell you a gym membership). I found a good one through a local physical therapy place.

What eventually worked for me was the beachbody.com's power 90 and Turbo Jam. It's aerobics and weights on alternating days. At first it was challenging, but the longer you keep at it, the better you get. The key is to combine it with a change in eating habits and to remain persistent. You really have to dedicate yourself to doing whatever workout program you choose and not quit even if you feel a pinch here and there. Don't overdo it !! starting out. Soreness is the fastest way to quitting. Give yourself time to ease into it.
Best of luck.

You have to alternate your routines, don't do the same workouts every day. When I started working out I found that kickboxing is a lot of fun and it could be challenging. If you're looking for ab results do crunches, they could be really hard at first but you get used to it.

You have to give it some time. Just workout at a gym like go on a tredmill which is pretty easy. Or you could jogg outside.
