Moderate Muslims: why no fatwa vs. Bin Laden?

Non-muslims keep hearing that Islam is the religion of peace. Everyone knows that moderate muslims did not order the planes to hit the WTC on 9/11, but why do muslims not condemn the acts of these violent criminals? Where is the fatwa against AlQaeda? How can we believe your sincerity if you remain silent on this important issue?

Thank you admiralbob, for pointing out the spanish fatwa which was issued one full year after the terrorist train bombing in Spain (which was itself later than 9/11). The article you cite says this was the FIRST fatwa in all of europe (therefore all others were silent), but this fatwa is basically asking news agencies not to use the word 'Islamic' when talking about AlQaeda, since 'they have excommunicated themselves from the Umma'. It is nothing like the fatwa on Salomon Rushdie, where they ordered the death of the book author. Nor like the calls for death of Danish newspaper cartoonists... I'm looking for something stronger.

Abdulhaq and Omar, I wish to believe your point of view, however you do not point to any of these 'plenty of fatwas' that we in the west do not see 'because jews and us govt' control our media. Here is your chance, show me. And no, sorry, I can't read Arabic. Where are the shouts and cries of 'Death to Bin Laden!' ??

It is because there is nothing like a moderate muslim. To change what is written in the Koran, would mean becoming either Allah or the Prophet.

The prophet of islam said he is the last one and there is no one after him. So to change all that one has to become Allah, dont you think?

Ok. You know what. I would like to start issuing fatwas. Because muslims have the right to issue fatwas on anyone and everyone, I think I would like the same right. What you think?

Remember one thing. There is no moderation in islam. Islam is the final word of Allah as described by the Prophet.
Therefore there are no moderate muslims. All this is just humbug.

We do not remain silent, but the U.S Government and the Jews are controlling media.

If any Muslim says a word they start bombing everyone and everywhere targeting innocents like children and women (specially in Palestine now), so they could reach only one guy that was trying to defend Islam, that's their policy they don't care for humans lives they care to destroy Islam.

Perhaps the people you should blame for this lack of information you hold should be the Media. As there are many fataawa against Bin Laaden even before sept. 11.

Shaykh Ahmad an-Najmee said that Bin Laaden is a Misguided Deviant and anyone who defends him and makes excuses for him is like him, they are misguided.

Shaykh Ibn Baaz (Rahimahullaah) said, "So my advice to al-Masari, al-Faqih, Bin Laaden, and all those who traverse their way is to leave alone this disastrous path, and to fear Allah and to beware of His vengeance and His anger, and to return to guidance and to repent to Allah for what has preceded from them…"

Shaykh Muqbil (rahimahullaah) said concerning bin Laaden that he is a 'Dammawee', meaning one who is thirsty for Blood. And the refuted bin Laaden saying that he (shaykh Muqbil) is free from him.

Many of the scholars of Islaam refuted bin Laaden heavily. But the western media does not propegate this as it fits the goal of creating an environment of fear of Muslims and Islaam.

There are many books published against Bin Laaden, a Khaarijee (a sect of Islaam). There are many many many books concerning this sect and writings against it.

My advice for you is to read these books and to propegate them to your friends, as they clarify the evils of Bin Laaden and his deviant callers to misguidance:
