Mainly due to high fat and high salt content.

Both fat and salt lead to hardening of arteries, therefore heart attack and stroke are more likely. These are already two of the main problems that kill people or make them unable to live normal lives.

Also obesity is a common result. If you eat more calories/kilojoules (energy from food) than you burn off (exercise) than you will get fatter and fatter. Obesity is also a major indicator or "risk factor" for heart failure.

Not only this though. You need nutrients for all of your body's functions to work properly. Sometimes you might feel healthy, but really some part of you is struggling due to the shocking intake of food and minimal exercise that people do.

Apparently some massive proportion of americans and even their children are obese. It is not because of big bones, it is not usually due to gland problems, it is because they eat too much and do little exercise. (See Homer Simpson)

Watch super size me. It is a documentary where a guy eats Macdonalds for a month, and he doesnt seem to be too healthy.

First of all, most junk food in laden with sugar. A steady diet of sugar is the fast track to diabetes. Now there's a way to shorten your life, or at least reduce the quality of it. Secondly, sugar turns to fat, and that is why there are so many disgustingly fat people around the globe, but particularly the US. That's right, Americans are becoming disgusting fat bodies, and that is another way of destroying your health.

So, if having a strong heart, blood pressure under control, good circulation, and a strong immune system are important to you, maybe you need to start eating vegetable salads and less fried foods and sugary products.

Yes. Junk food is bad for health, because it doesn't possess vitamins. Further it irritates digestive system - it may cause acidity and inflammation to intestines resulting in constipation.
