You could do one on how matter has three states of being: solid, liquid and gas. Take an ice cube (a solid) and put it in a bowl in a warm environment (maybe microwave the bowl for a minute to warm it up). When it melts, the solid has changed into water (a liquid). Now take the water and pour it into an electric kettle or frying pan and heat it up. When it starts boiling, it has changed into steam (a gas). You could record the temperature at which each change takes place with a thermometer.
