Go to the doc and they should give you some things to try or do before running too many tests or giving you drugs or something. If you're wife has been charting and you have been planning your love making on that for many months but no pregnancy, then it may be time for testing anyway. there's not much more you can do than make love at the right time of the month (about a 3-day window) and hope for the best, so if it's not working out, it may be time for some professional help... or at least perhaps a diagnoses.
i wish you both the best and hope you get your surprise baby soon. Sometimes it happens when you least expect it or just when you have decided to relax about it..

go to store and buy the ovulation kit u can get ovulation sticks pretty cheap and start testing on day 10 from the first day of your period and when it says u r ovulating then try and have sex as often as u like lay in bed for 10 minutes after and have him wear boxers not sunggies also if u r going to try and get pregnant start taking pre natal vitamins good one is called one source can get it at wal mart it does not upset your stomach at all (have been through all of this personally) try that for a couple months if it don't work then go to doctor or if ovulation sticks don't show ovulation go to doctor but follow directions on box u might need 2 boxes cause u want to check daily and most ovulation time range from days 10 to 14 but some ovulate late my cousin was day 19 so try all that first and relax good luck.

I had this problem and I think I was stressed and that worked against me. I now have two sons.
First relax, try to time ovulation, there are kits that predict this now. The husband should wear boxer shorts, this helps. If it has been over 6 months of trying with no luck then see the doctor.

Most doctors won't see you about fertility issues unless you've been trying to conceive for at least a year. (Less if the woman is over a certain age, say 33?)
In the meantime, the woman can chart her cycle (through body temperature and/or changes in the cervical fluid) to find the few days when she is most fertile. And obviously, have sex then!
A very good book on this is Taking Charge of Your Fertility (author's name escapes me, Teri somebody?). Good luck!

14-16 days after the start of your period is the best time. You can also buy home ovulation kits in Boots which tell you the exact time in your cycle. I used them to conceive my second child. If you have been trying for a long time there is no harm in seeing the doc.
Good luck

Ask the lady to take her temperature every day at the same time in the morning and write it down. This will be handy to work out the time of ovulation. According to that site the temp drops at the time of ovulation the next 48 hours after that are the best time to fall pregnant.
A lot of women who don't believe in contraception use this method to stop falling pregnant.

You have to have been trying for at least a year.
No smoking for either of you
No alcohol for either of you
Husband should wear loose boxers not y fronts
Wife should take folic acid supplement
Have sex as much as you can on days 12 - 16 of wifes monthly cycle (day one is the day period starts)

Tracking your ovulation is the best way to figure out which days of the month you are most fertile.
This web site helped us conceive: fertilityfriend-dot-com
If you cannot conceive on your own in one year, see your doctor - unless you are over 30, then wait only six months.
Good luck!

Stress can inhibit you when wanting a baby.
Why don't you and hubs have a nice relaxing night with a drink and maybe some sexy clothes. Forget about stress and just enjoy each others company.

Generally, you have to have been trying for a baby for 1-2 years before a doctor will refer you for fertility treatment.
However, you could chart your wife's fertility. If you Google pregnancy or fertility monitoring, you can get a wealth of information how to work around her period to find her most fertile days (and...*ahem*...use them your own advantage)
