From what I have understood, a child is considered blameless until they understand right from wrong and can understand what Jesus came to do for us. I would expect the same qualifications to go to the mentally challenged depending on their knowledge and capability. The Deaf/Blind/Mute person can still be taught (for example Hellen Keller). If that person learns about the world, etc. Then they would be judged on what was revealed to them.

Unfortunately in all of these cases I don't think anyone can say for sure what would happen.

Baptise the child in Jesus name......Plus I believe these children are brought to use to teach us a lesson. If the are born deaf, blind and unable to speak, I don't think that they have a high chance of sin. So there relationship with God would be closer.

I would still read the bible to them and teach them about God because even though the human body can not hear, see or speak their spirit is still listening and learning.

A person who is mentally challenged and has the mind of a child will go to heaven. A person who is deaf or blind stil have the ability to study and leard the word of God, and needs to accept Jesus as their savior, or they will not get into heaven.

The teaching of the Church is that yes, of couse they could go to Heaven. Their lack of knowledge or faith would not be their fault because of their condition. Even people who are not baptized but through no fault of their own have been raised to believe in another religion can go to Heaven by living a good life.

I have a son born with a severe physical disability which means he is unable to speak or communicate in any way......my belief is that even if he had not been baptized, (which he has) he would go to heaven. God is a God of mercy and love, not of judgment. He would not be so cruel as to keep my son or anyone like him out of heaven just because they cannot speak........Proverbs says, "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves." It's up to us Christians to speak up on the behalf of these people, to pray and intercede for them........

Going to heaven will not require someone else to complete his senses. Neither will it accept someone who lacks senses. It doesn't take senses or something to get to heaven but it takes good deeds. Even if you're deaf but you committed a lot of sins, that will not excuse you in going to heaven. Even if you don't have all the senses and despite your knowledge of what is wrong and right you still commit sins, you're not going to heaven...

It's a matter of opinion. Mentally challenged get a free pass I guess. I guess if deaf people aren't smart enough to learn how to read with their handicap, they'll get one too. And blind people, well they can hear. No excuses there.

Why is it absolutely necessary for them to know about Christ? If there is a Heaven, as long as they lead as good a life as they can, wouldn't they be eligible? Or do they not make the cut because they don't know? Ooohh..they don't know! They're damned! Heathens! Get real.
