Yes, I've heard it. The mayo does not get rid of head-lice, but since they itch...mayo will relieve the itch. In addition, believe it or not, it will soothe dry scalp and get the hair moisturized. If you have dry hair though, I would say olive oil(heated)works a lot better, and to relieve itchy, flaky scalp noxema will work wonders. If you know anyone who got head-lice, tell them to get the lice shampoo, the one they sell over the counter(RID)does work, and for the itch they can put mayo or noxema on their scalp. However, with headlice it is crucial to follow the instructions on how to get rid of them to the dot.

You need to treat your hair with a product similar to RID. The mayonaise is used to help get the nits, or eggs, off the hair shaft. The nits are very hard to remove because they attach themselves to the hair shaft. By putting mayonaise on it, it will help release their hold and then can be combed out

yes it works great and it is safer then putting chemicals on your head ..but you have to do this more because of the eggs they leave behind maybe every five days...you still have to by the spray to kill the bugs on the couch and rugs any where you layed..clean all your bed clothes...put mayo all over hair and cover with some plastic wrap..lieve on for a while then wash hair and pull the bugs our with your (FINGERS)..the combs dont work..and the mayo will make your hair feel and look wonderful..a neighbor girl would get lice all the time and her mother wouldnt by the lice spampoo for her..so i would do this for her ..i couldnt afford to buy the shampoo for her

No it should work to get rid of the lice but the eggs and nits remain so get a proper lice comb and shampoo and get to work. Don't forget to wash everything like bedclothes, hats, toys etc.

Seriously doubt it will work, WalMart sells lice shampoo...and if you are in the middle of an epidemic per se, make sure you bag everything and wash everything or they will come back.

so sorry to tell you this will never work
you'll have to use a product like nix, and then use a nit comb or carefully pull the nits off yourself
another answer is to shave the head
be careful with the treatments as they are poisonous to humans as well

Yes I have, also Tea tree shampoo. Nits hate tea tree and so do ants.
Another is hair conditioner left on hair then comb hair with fine tooth comb.
I have just read up on it recently
