There is an ancient saying "in wine, there is truth"...which later was modified to say "a drunk man's words are a sober man's thoughts".
What happens is that alcohol tends to lower ones inhibitions.
Whether this acts like some kind of truth serum is still questionable.
But too much alcohol does open up the mouth (and yet, the brain isn't running at full capacity!).
In your case honey, you need to rethink the way you handle stress.
Alcohol isn't a good choice for you.
Try something more constructive - like kick boxing.

Most peoples reaction to the effects of drinking are be drastically different however one thing is very common you lose your innibitions and feel "free" to say your true and honest feelings about things - In this situation however the fight could have been what was really more on your mind the the entire relationship as you got drunk because of the fight you both just had.

Yes in most cases alcohol makes you tell the truth.
You have your truthful drunks, your emotional drunks, sloppy drunks, your pass out drunks, hurl your guts drunks, but yes you will hear the deep dark truth and some secrets. So hold on for the ride.

Ahhh, there are some other issues going on here besides the loosing of the tongue while under the influence. When I need to make important decisions, I guarantee you that I don't pick up a bottle of bourbon and proceed to get blotto in order see what I'm really thinking.
Depressed, fight, lack of control add alcohol and you have a recipe for disaster.

It is a mistake to think that what one says when drunk is a deeper truth than what one says when sober. You were following your anger that lead you to get drunk. Apologize and try to stay away from the booze, especially when you are upset in the future.

Being drunk will lessen the likelyhood of being able to suppress the truth, but is not necessarily a "truth serum". You may want to try something healthier to escape from reality... like a hot bath or something.

Drunks blurt out lots of stuff they cant remember...it is often hurtful and the receiver never forgets. Talk to your boyfriend about your true feelings, (whatever they may be), and lay off the grog.

People behave differently under the influence. Some people gush. Others get loud and obnoxious. Just depends on the person.
