I'm new to the whole sun screen thing. What SPF is best for fair-skinned people? Also which brand would you recommend? Thanks.

I've always used the highest SPF I can find...usually 60. I've also used Banana Boat or Coppertone. Never been burnt.

My kids and hubby are very fair skinned and I won't take any risks with their health....

All sun screens are the same for us whether fair skinned or otherwise. The number on the sunscreen refers to how long it will last before you should re-apply. So SPF 30 is 30 minutes or SPF 45 is 45 minutes and so on.

Try Clinique or Vichy. Use SPF 30 for a face, but something lower for the rest of your body, because if it's to high, you won't get a tan at all.

The highest SPF you can find. The brands are pretty much the same, so you can buy the cheapest, if it has the highest SPF.

The best sun screen is something called a shirt, pants, and hat. They don't wash off, protect 100%, and once you apply them you don't have to reapply them.
