It is a small box my nanna used to have one and it is filled with really tightly rolled pieces of paper and a pair of tweezers for lifting them out. Each piece of paper has some sort of inspirational quote or bible passage on it.

I am not sure if I am thinking of the same thing but I know that Marshall Fields sells boxes that are called Prayer boxes. You write down your prayer request and put it inside. Hope this helps.
