You're referring to Mary Magdalene and what we've taken to mean as her being a prostitute meant back then that she was a woman who was an unmarried outcast who lived in Magdala, a city which was suffering from moral decay. She associated with men but no where does the bible say she was a prostitute. If Jesus has an "affinity" for prostitutes as you say it would likely relate to His character trait and His commission that He came to save the lost and the sinner, not the righteous. Peace.

Jesus had an affinity for everyone. BTW the only prostitue I can think of interacting with Jesus directly mentioned was supposedly Mary Magdalene, and that is up for debate. He sought out the sinners, though because they had the most need of repentance.

The well do not need a physician it is the sick who need one. This means that Christ came for the sinners and as that is why he was here he chose to minister to those most in need at the time. Prostitutes where probably common as that was the only way for many women with no father or husband to support themselves. It also caused many to be put to death. He also hung out with tax collectors and other thieves.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Wow, Jesus actually solicited prostitutes, no wonder it's the oldest profession. LOL! But he was also human, not only human but a male, men cannot stray away from the desire of their flesh, and lust. Without in some way, quenching their thirst. lol!

Because he understood that they were women who had been abandoned and who were making their way the only way that that society had left to them. He well understood abandonment and the need to survive.
