It is a normal time for an adult. Kids in school should sleep an hour or 2 longer. I do not always get 8 hrs and I feel fine.

How much sleep you require depends on several factors including:

Your inherited genetic need
Your sleep hygiene (those daily activities you control, from drinking coffee or alcohol to smoking and exercise)
The quality of your sleep
Your 24-hour daily cycle known as the circadian rhythm

For example, smoking, drinking, and exercise can affect your sleep dramatically. What you actually do in bed (like reading or watching TV) and how much exposure to light you have (looking at that bright computer screen 'til midnight) will also significantly alter both the quality and quantity of your sleep. They all interact to determine how long you need to sleep to wake up feeling refreshed and remain alert throughout the day.

Yes. Every hour you miss from sleep from that 8 hour rest makes your concentration and performance in the next day lower greatly.

It depends on your age. Children sleep more time, old people sleep for 4-5 hours. Normally, it is OK

in fact sleeping provides a complete rest to your body enhancing growth day by day. it relieves your day-to-day tension and gives you a fresh warm feeling to face your day ahead. it depends, if you feel you are tired you may extend your sleeping hours, the moment you feel nice you may get up and resume your normal duties. ofcourse, it is necessary that you should sleep, determining hours is left to you.
