If you cannot wait until your dentist comes back, check the phone book as there are many places that take patients on an emergency basis, such as a broken tooth, and if the specialize in that and you don't have insurance, they are better about working out a payment plan.
In the meantime you could put Orajel (the stuff that is put on babies gums when they are teething) to dull the pain and a few Motrin. If you are over 21 and you are not working today, a shot or two of whiskey deadens the pain.
You could put ice in your mouth for 15 mins and have someone pull it out with pliers (washed in warm, soapy water and dipped in alcohol first), but would not recommend it as by trying to dig it out, you could break off the top part and then have to have to root cut out...OUCH!

You could chew a pain relief tablet like Panadol. This will numb your mouth, even if it tastes horrible. Then you can slowly pull it out. Move it in and out, loosen the roots before you jerk it out. You will bleed a little, so get a cotton wool and bite on it. Don't eat anything for at least two hours, just drink lots of liquid, even soup. After the tooth is out you should try gargling salty water to clean the area. And then dissolve another Panadol in warm water and gargle that.
If it is not a baby tooth, some of the tooth is left in your gums, or the bleeding doesn't stop after a couple of hours you should see an all night dentist or go to a hospital.
Good Luck!

Ok grab a napkin or paper towel, put it on your tooth and get a good grip under the part that it out of your gum, then once you have a good tight grip, take a deep breath and pull really hard and fast.... that should do it. If your grip is not tight enough or you don't get enough of a pull on it, then repeat. Right after rinse your mouth with salt water several times. The salt water will not hurt. It will just help the bleeding stop and clean the open gum.

If I were you I would try to wiggle it out with clean hands (wash with soap + water) if it is causing too much pain to bear. Then, find a dentist that is open and will take you on emergency. Otherwise you risk infection if you start digging around with things such as pliers, etc.
Best luck + I hope you feel better fast.

NHS Direct will be able to tell you if there is an emegency NHS surgery in your area, which will be open laqte with no need for an appointment - if not, it may be worth paying a visit to your local A&E department, as at least they will be able to get the tooth out hygenically to prevent it from getting infected, and should also be able to give you some painkillers for your sore mouth.....aaawwwww poor you.

There may be an emergency dental office. If not then try calling a different dentist. If they are closed then all you can do is put up with it. To make it more bearable they have things at the drugstore to keep it numb.

you have to wait for your dentist or visit any dentist available for the proper treatment, meanwhile you take some pain relievers so that the pain will go off for a while
dont try to touch it with your fingers, it may cause infection

Tie a "strong" thread around your tooth, attach the thread to your door handle, open your door and SLAM IT SHUT!!!
If the thread cuts, then look for a stronger thread!
If you see a bloody tooth on the ground, then gratz! You have a baby boy!
