Science isn't a religion, because it relies on providing evidence to support or refute theory, and isn't afraid to change its views. It's a work in progress. Science is fantastic!

Science is not a religion. Nor is science always right. However, science is similar to religion, just ask any scientist who has had a new idea that went against accepted scientific thought. I find a need for both.

Science is science. Faith is faith. If you're a reasonably intelligent person, you know that science and faith are NOT incompatible, nor should be; the Dali Lama has said that if scientific discovery contradicts Buddhist teaching, than Buddhist teaching must change.

Listen, I'll pass along a little mind-messer my grandmother used to use on me. THINK about what you believe, then ask yourself - "Who does this belief hurt? Who does it condemn, who does it exclude?" And if can't honestly say, "No one!"...well, then the chances are that what you believe is W R O N G.

I disagree. Science is not a religion, it is simply a method of determining answers about our natural world--no faith required. It doesn't occupy the same niche as religion, as it were. (I'm not a religionist, but I'd say the point of religion is to answer the irrational questions of the human condition, to provide counsel in matters of the heart, to help us draw on our inner strength. This is quite different from the purpose of science as stated above.)

No, I don't...and science is not a religion anyway. Religion has to do with believing in a higher power etc...science is belief in theories, facts, things which can be proven, etc. Personally, religion enhances my life by 100%.

The problem is science is that it is constantly evolving and improving. What was true in science today might be outdated in a year or even a week. So to tell people to set other more permanent beliefs aside for something that is constantly in flux just wont do

I'll go with ernest's answer.
I am a scientist and Christian - there is no conflict although there are many unknowns about detail. We work in both science and discipleship to know the mind of God. In the former we use scientific method and in the latter, the Holy Spirit.
But we have to realize that there are some things that are not for us to know (yet).
DT 29:29 "The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever ..."
