I need to sell my wedding dress and not sure where to do so at. I bought the dress for $600 and want to sell it for no more than $300. would a dress consignment shop actually pay this much? and does anyone know where the best place to go is?

If you go to a cosignment shop, you will not get paid unless the dress sells. If you go to a resale shop, you will only get half of what they plan on selling it for (if they even accept it). Your best bet would be to either list it on ebay or place an add in your local newspaper.

Good luck!

unless it is a designer dress, you would be lucky to even get $100 for it. (Sorry...) If you are looking to get rid of it and get the most money out of your dress, I would donate it to the Salvation Army and write it off during tax time. i.e. if you write it off for $600 you will get about 200 back.

Another option would be to sell it online or put an ad up on e-bay.

If you have had any alterations on the dress, it will have an effect on how much the consignment shop will pay you for it also.

In Newent (near gloucester) there is a shop called the stock exchange, they take good quality items only. the only downside is they keep half of the selling price.
