First of all, I am of Native American ancestry, and a shaman thru lineage of my Mother and Grandmother.
Being a scientist, I denied my 'empathic' nature for years, and did not practice or 'sharpen' my skills... I was WRONG!!
Everybody's 'sensitivity' goes thru cycles of 'acute' and 'dull'.
Nothing you can do about it, some days are better than others.
Also, some PEOPLE emit an aura that is easy to read, others don't. So one's sensitivity to individual people will change for each circumstance.
My suggestion, if you FEEL that you have the gift, try to find a TOOL that works for you. The methods are plentiful. I chose RUNES for MY vehicle, but everyone is different. From feedback from people I have given readings to, my accuracy rate is 75-80%..Not perfect by ANY means, but higher than pure coincidence would allow.
My best wishes in your endeavors...

Mine come and go, too. I think if I could ever get rid of the stress in my life and have the time to concentrate on it, I could probably fine tune it a little. I always get "message" dreams before someone I care about dies but sometimes the message is hazy and though I know someone is about to pass, the who of it isn't always clear. And there are times when I can walk into a gas station or convience store, look at an instant lottery ticket and know its a winner, same with slot machines. Unfortunately, they're always small wins, I guess to keep me humble. I always know too when my husband gets hurt, I will feel the pain for just a split second. (Maybe I don't want to fine tune this!) I'll watch your answers, I'd kind of like to know, too.
