Hehehe...this has been the dilemma faced by armies over thousand of years - The Hundred Years War - England and France, both good God-Fearing countries, but victory passed back and forth, almost like God couldn't make up his mind. World War One, no non-Christian nations involved in that one 9for the most part). World War Two - technically, despite the irony of many of the combatant nations having empires that subjugated other races horribly, they did it in the name of God, and Hitler used Christian arguments to justify anti-semitism (though of course keeping a healthy interest in other occult maters too!). American War of Independence? Both Christians. American Civil War? Both Christians.

It's kind of like when we sart going to war, god flips the "closed" sign, puts his fingers in his ears and starts singing "lalalalala I can't hear you! I'm not listening - sort it out amongst yourselves!" then as soon as there's a victor, he pops back up, going "Oh. You sorted it out then? Good good, now let's get back to business, shall we?"

God does not bless military action. When we are to pray for our troops we pray for safety (that is no unnecessary fighting), a return home (yellow ribbon on the old oak tree), and peace (that is the fighting will end). We don't pray for a bloody victory.

By that logic God was the one who allowed the atomic bombs to be dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, far from it that was America's decision, or rather the represtning government's decision seeing as how civilians had no knowledge of such.

The only wars to which God would aid would be like that of the Jews conquering the Promised Land. But God smote the enemy not because of Israel's righteousness, but the opposition's wickedness.

Good question, bad commentary.

When Christian nations fight it usually is said that God blessed the winner. It may be the case, but I don't think it is so much of God's blessing them at the time of war, but at the time that the people who fight the war and lead the winning side are born. They are blessed with intelligence, determination, and inventiveness. These traits are important for leaders in a conflict, and I guess leaders in general.

As for the World Wars:

WWI maybe, but by WWII Germany was pretty much in the grip of a anti-god movement. The SS leadership, and Hitler, were heavily into the occult. And Japan was primarily Daoists and Shintoist, with a sprinkling of Buddhist as well. Italy...was questionable, but probably considered themselves Catholic, so...

God blesses the one with the bigger weapons, usually. God's been blessing the hands-down favourite ever since David and Goliath...

The one that is obeying his commandments more. If both are the same in doing his will then probably the attacked if there was no reason for being attacked. If the attackers had a good moral reason for attacking then they would not be equally moral.
