Many countries have 'do not call' lists, but many of them are not compulsory.
Change your number to a silent (unlisted) number, or do as I do and just say "I'm sorry but I don't buy or do surveys over the phone,: And then hang up immediately.
I have heard some people hand the receiver over to their talkative 2 year olds, and let them talk for as long as possible. *LOL*

Register here. It is the national "Do Not Call" Registry (a government run site). The site is self-explanatory and walks you through some very basic steps. I did this almost two years ago and, within 30 days, the calls stopped. https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx

If you live in the US, you can add your number to "Do Not Call" lists. If you live outside the US, I don't know what you could do.
