By minimizing your flaws and maximizing your good qualities, both physical and otherwise, you'll SEEM perfect to everyone around you [although you should know that BEING perfect is impossible].
Always be kind and polite to everyone you interact with. Look your best 24/7 [or atleast when in the presence of company]. Stay up to date with current affairs so you can atleast feign intelligence at cocktail parties and social events. Looking good is also relatively easy. All you really need to work at would be hiding your flaws [tough one].
Even then, there will be people who don't like you because no matter how wonderful you may be, there will always be a bunch of people either jealous of you or something about you just irks them. It's inexplicable but no one is 100% likeable.
The facts of life are cold and hard.
