I'm interested in using a piezoelectric buzzer to create a computer effect tone when I depress a 12v auto switch in a given car. Any help appreciated.

connect (impermenantly) the buzzer to 12V. if it makes noise then put a switch between one lead and the power source. extend the wires to where you want the switch to go and you're off.

A bit difficult to give a straight answer without knowing a bit more.
Will the switch be applying voltage to something, or will it be interrupting a supply?
It would be much easier to correspond through the messaging system or by email.
