I don't resort to violence unless physically attacked first. No matter how much verbal abuse there is, no matter how angry I get and no matter how much I would love to beat up people who go too far with verbal abuse, I don't resort to violence. I use verbal abuse back and if somebody else resorts to violence I don't hesitate to respond in the same way, but so far I've never lost control and been the one to start violence. I don't believe violence solves anything.

I try very hard not to start fights--my rule of thumb is that if the other person throws the first punch, then I'll finish it. The one time I almost threw the first punch was when some sorry excuse for a human being called me a weak and frail woman. I walked away, but I was seething--and only left after I'd verbally destroyed him to the point that he was curled up in a little ball!

I would not resort to violence but i would make my feelings known. There is only so much abuse a person can take.

I must be one of the few people in the UK who can put up with anything, I have only blown my top once, and that was a long time ago.
The person in question had to go to hospital to have his nose but back to normal, i mean he pushed so much I saw red and that was it, a 5 foot guy putting down a 6foot 2 guy, like he was nothing
Funny thing is though, hes now one of my best friends

'sticks and stones...', what I got taught as a kid. Seems to work if you keep that in mind. Having said that, I've never been subjected to a tyrade of sustained verbal abuse. But unlikely to make much difference as I abhor violence.

i would take unlimited verbal abuse and never resort to violence i would only resort to violence if i was being attacked and then it would be minimal for my own protection i know this from personal experience unfortunatly because of my size and build when i hit people they get badly hurt

I would try to de-fuse the situation, by listening patiently to the other person and showing that I understand their point of view. It's probably different for an athlete. They sometimes do 'trash-talk' each other and when the adrenaline is pumping it can be hard to let it roll off your shoulders.

I think there is never a solution to voilence. The provocative nature of abuses can be dealt depending on the situation. One doesn't have to be personally involved.

I usually just laugh. Small minds use verbal abuse to make themselves feel "bigger" usally their life is miserable and they suffer in the life they deserve.
