Two nights ago I went to a restaurant called Sushi A-Go-Go here in NY. I had only a spicy tuna roll and I got poisoned by it.
I am still sick and angry because of that...that's why I want to know to where I should call here in New York to fill a complain?

The respectful thing to do is let the sushi place know that you believe that they gave you food poisoning. Make sure that you speak to a manager. Give them a chance to investigate the issue and make things right. If they do not take you seriously, talk to the owner, or if it is a chain, get corporate involved. If that doesn't work you can take further action without feeling guilty about it. However, keep in mind that many of these people are right in saying that food poisoning generally takes at least 24 hours to take effect.

Health Department to file a complaint. However most cases of "food poisoning" are caused by the diner's hygiene, not the restaurant's. Most people have kitchens that wouldn't pass the health inspection because they are not cleaned to the same degree a commerical kitchen is.

Failure to wash their own hands is a number one reason for people to get sick from eating. There is a possibility the restaurant was at fault, but generally its not just one person who gets ill. When you report it to the health department if there have been other complaints they will act immediately to prevent a breakout.

By the way... the NY area is in the third or fourth week of a real ugly stomach virus... my entire office got wiped out by it... aside from the gastro-intestinal nastiness, many people are not eating normally for three or four days afterwards.

Concerning food poisoning, most people think that the last thing they ate was the cause. This is almost never the case. Pathogens responsible for food poisoning typically take from 1 to 3 DAYS for their effects to cause you distress.

So, don't look at the spicy tuna roll you had two nights ago, look at your kitchen counter top, at home, where you prepared the chicken you had the night before. That is more likely the source.

I have to agree with Jesi. If you did get food poisoning from the restaurant other people would have gotten sick as well. Contact the restaurant and politely explain to them what happened and call the Department of Health and let them know too, if other people got sick they should know about it.
Feel better!

This is quite funny, I actually knows the staff there....I guess depending on the purpose of your complain....what do you want out of it? I am sure they'll gladly give you back your money or offer you a free meal. I guess you can file a complain with the health department.... If you need more info on whom to call at Sushi a go go .....I'll be happy to give you their contact numbers.

First of course make sure it was caused by that resturant, cause the problems coming from this would be big. Then you'd have to call the health inspector that has jurdistriction ofver that area.
