This guy has been repeatedly posting questions on this forum about the war in Iraq and the military in general. The thing is they aren't serious questions. He uses the forum to go on tirades against the U.S. military especially our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. He makes up news items or talks about imaginary people he's met who are in the service and how "scared" they are, or he talks about how bad they're getting their asses kicked. This idiot has been in the navy AND the air force for a total of 6 years of course none of which was in combat and received a less than honorable discharge. His name is ERUDITE. How would you deal with this piece of scum?

I agree with you that some of what he has said is wrong, and I also believe that he has made stuff up, but I'm not sure there is a lot you can do. He's allowed to express his own opinion, no matter how stupid it is! And it's not as if you can prove he's lying when he claims to have these conversations with people that are in the military that are saying we are getting our butts kicked in Iraq, so you can't really have him kicked off of here for that.
I know how frustrating it is when people are giving information out based on lies, or strictly on opinion with no hard proof to back it up. There is a huge difference between opinion and what you know for a fact, and if people really want to know what's going on in Iraq and about today's military, they should talk to military members who are on active duty today! Not someone who served more then thirty years ago. The military does change over time like everything else.

I am not sure how you got all of his information, but if it is true then I would just choose to disregard him. Realize that this forum is simply a freedom made possible by the global community at large. As a military member, I don't particularly like some of the dissenting views but then again I agreed to help protect everyone's right to voice them. Support the troops, because they are putting themselves in harm's way daily to help others. The media often paints a dismal picture of Iraq and Afghanistan, but there is a lot of good happening there that will benefit Iraqis and the world for a long time. I would ask that the Muslims within this community help support those Imams who are trying to condemn the violent fatwas being issued. Conflict resolution in Iraq will depend on moderation from within the people and their religion.

what he is doing is not only disresctful to the mariens and soldiers but also their families. My daughter and I have addopted two soldiers.. One in Iraq and in Aganistan. Maybe this guy was discharged because he had some sort of mental illness and I am not being mean. Maybe he regrets being discharged and never was given the chance to be in combat. From the sound of it he may be schizophrenia. Maybe someone needs to contact a recruitor or someone and tell them what this person is doing. And how he is disprespecting these service men and women. But I think it jealous because he was discharged. Turn him into yahoo and have him banned from yahoo.

I would tell him "thanks" for the 6 years he served from 1969 to 1975. I would also say "thank you" to him for telling all here how one should not believe the USA Government when it comes to war. ( In 1969 he was told "We will win Vietnam....Now we are told ( In the year 2006 ) "We will win in Iraq". Ha! Yea! Right! I say to all you warmongers here ( With respect of course ) We will not win in Iraq. And about the military men and women. They are good people. The best of the best. Cream of the crop. The Military who gives me a reply I always say thank you in an E-mail. I really wish them the best.....And a safe return of course. And to the man who wrote about me here. He's a good man too. One can tell he has high standards. Well, this scum has to go back to bed. Later all...

I'm learning that the only way to deal with people who pose questions whose only point is to get people to rant, is to ignore them. They want attention. They also want to believe that they are superior to the people who are ranting at them. It's a form of manipulation and control. Don't play their game.
If everyone ignored them they'd take their vicious ignorance and and abuse their wives with it. Maybe their poor spouse will eventually get wise and leave their sorry ***

Well, despite his ugly comments, he has more experience in the service than Bush or Cheney ever did.
