You will have to find out the name of the plant first and then search.

General Santos City is the southernmost city in the Philippines (Mindanao). In the 16th Century, the city was called "Dadiangas" after a thorny shrub that was common in the area. Even today, some still refer to the city as Dadiangas or Dajangas. (see link)

I can't find another reference to the plant except that it was good firewood ... and has become scarce.

Look by the name in search engines (Yahoo!, Google, AOL, Jeeves, etc....) in the ImageSearch section. I guess you'd find it
